Job Introduction
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our HR team and play a key role in supporting the College's strategic objectives through effective people management.
As a trusted partner to leaders and managers across the College, you will provide expert HR advice, challenge and support, helping to build organisational capability, enhance employee engagement, and drive positive change. About the Role
As an HR Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leaders and managers, becoming an integral part of departmental leadership teams. You will support operational and strategic decision-making by providing expert advice on a wide range of people matters, including workforce planning, employee relations, organisational change, wellbeing, attendance, recruitment, retention and talent development.
You will use data, insight and evidence to identify opportunities for improvement and help shape people strategies that support the College's ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders and managers to provide strategic and operational HR support across designated business areas.
- Act as a trusted adviser on all people-related matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and College policies.
- Support workforce planning activities, identifying current and future staffing and skills requirements.
- Provide coaching, challenge and guidance to managers to strengthen leadership capability and improve decision-making.
- Lead and support employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, investigations and complex people matters.
- Support organisational change initiatives including restructures, redundancy consultations and TUPE processes.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the College to influence and support business objectives.
- Act as a local people expert, supporting the implementation of new HR initiatives, policies and practices.
- Lead and contribute to HR projects aligned to the annual HR plan.
- Support the development, review and implementation of HR policies, procedures and systems.
- Ensure contractual changes, pay amendments and employee records are accurately maintained.
- Represent Human Resources at internal meetings and external events as required.
About You
Essential
- Significant experience working in a Human Resources Business Partner, Senior HR Adviser or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience of managing complex employee relations casework.
- Experience supporting organisational change initiatives, including restructures and consultation processes.
- Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build credibility and strong working relationships at all levels.
- Experience using HR data and metrics to support decision-making.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
