Site Assistant

Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bury College as a Site Assistant. We are looking for an individual who want to be part of the Site Assistant team and can assist in providing a high quality and responsive estates services across the College. The Site Assistants perform caretaking/ facilities duties, which will include opening and closing the campus, supporting with routine maintenance whilst also responding to jobs logged by staff, which could be anything from painting to moving furniture.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a proactive approach to maintenance and a can-do attitude
  • Have good problem-solving skills
  • Possess good general DIY skills and take pride in their work
  • Has great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has a flexible approach to working
  • Can undertake painting, decorating and minor refurbishment work
  • Can, whilst working with the wider Estates team, undertake key-holding, maintenance, repair and porterage duties
  • Must be able to promote a safe, secure and pleasant environment by undertaking and adhering to risk assessments, safe systems of work and College policy and procedure
  • Can ensure that the campus is safe and accessible to all learners and staff
  • Can act as a point of contact for staff, students, external contractors and visitors

As an ideal candidate, you will hold an NVQ level 2 qualification or have good experience in a relevant trade and have good general DIY skills with an enthusiastic and proactive approach to your work.
