We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and industry-focused Assistant Curriculum Manager – Building Services (Electrical Installation Specialist) to join our Building Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your technical expertise with curriculum leadership responsibilities, helping to shape high-quality provision and outstanding learner outcomes within a thriving Further Education environment.

Working closely with the Director of Curriculum and Head of Curriculum, you will play a key role in supporting curriculum delivery, driving quality improvement and leading excellent teaching, learning and assessment across our Electrical Installation programmes.

About the Role

As Assistant Curriculum Manager, you will contribute to the leadership and development of a portfolio of Building Services courses while maintaining a teaching commitment. You will support curriculum planning, quality assurance, staff development and learner success, ensuring programmes meet the needs of learners, employers and the wider industry.

You will:

  • Support the management and development of Electrical Installation provision.
  • Drive improvements in learner attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
  • Monitor student performance and implement effective interventions where required.
  • Lead and contribute to curriculum quality processes including Self-Assessment Reviews and Continuous Improvement Plans.
  • Support the standardisation of assessment and internal verification activities.
  • Promote innovative teaching, learning and assessment practices, including the effective use of digital technologies.
  • Develop strong relationships with employers to enhance industry engagement and employability opportunities.
  • Chair team meetings and contribute to curriculum planning and resource development.
  • Support the development of new curriculum initiatives and employer-responsive provision.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and act as a positive role model for learners and colleagues.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

  • Trade qualification or equivalent in Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
  • Full teaching qualification (or currently working towards one).
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • QTS/QTLS or willingness to work towards professional recognition.

Essential Experience

  • Experience of teaching Electrical Installation or related vocational programmes.
  • Experience of planning and delivering high-quality programmes that meet assessment and quality requirements.
  • Experience of monitoring and improving learner achievement, retention and attendance.
  • Experience of using learner performance data to drive improvement.
  • Experience of producing effective schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Experience of embedding digital technologies and innovative teaching practices into learning.
  • Experience of responding effectively to learner feedback and supporting positive learner outcomes.
