About the Role
As a Lecturer in Business & Management, you will deliver engaging and innovative lessons across a range of Business programmes, supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
You will plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, monitor learner progress, and provide effective academic and pastoral support. Working collaboratively within the curriculum team, you will contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement, and the continued success of the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering excellent teaching, learning and assessment that inspires learners to succeed.
- Planning schemes of work, lesson plans and individual learning programmes.
- Monitoring learner progress through effective formative and summative assessment.
- Acting as a Personal Tutor, supporting learners' personal development, attendance, retention and achievement.
- Maintaining accurate learner records and reporting progress through college systems.
- Developing and maintaining engaging digital learning resources through the Virtual Learning Environment.
- Contributing to curriculum planning, self-assessment and continuous improvement activities.
- Supporting learner recruitment through interviews, open events and promotional activities.
- Liaising with awarding organisations, external moderators and employers where appropriate.
- Participating in internal verification, standardisation and quality assurance processes.
- Contributing positively to safeguarding, learner wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
About You
You will be a motivated and learner-focused professional with a passion for Business education and a commitment to raising standards.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Management or a related discipline.
- Has relevant industry experience within a business or management environment.
- Possesses a recognised teaching qualification or is willing to work towards one.
- Has experience of delivering high-quality teaching, training or coaching.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Has a commitment to learner achievement, progression and positive outcomes.
- Is confident using digital technologies and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.
- Is committed to continuous professional development and maintaining current industry knowledge.
Experience of teaching BTEC, T Level, A Level or Higher Education Business programmes would be advantageous.
