Are you passionate about Catering and teaching and committed to helping learners achieve their full potential? We are seeking an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Lecturer in Catering to join our dynamic curriculum team at Bury College on a part-time, permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring Lecturer to join a team, where you will play a key role in delivering outstanding learning experiences and supporting students to succeed, progress, and thrive within the catering and hospitality sector.

About the Role

As a Lecturer in Catering, you will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching, learning and assessment across a range of catering and hospitality programmes. You will inspire learners through high-quality classroom and practical workshop delivery while maintaining excellent standards of learner support, assessment, and curriculum development.

You will:

  • Deliver inspiring and inclusive teaching, learning and assessment
  • Plan and prepare effective schemes of work, lesson plans and learning activities
  • Monitor learner progress through high-quality formative and summative assessment
  • Support learners through tutorials, ILPs, progress reviews and pastoral guidance
  • Integrate innovative and digital learning resources, including Canvas VLE and ILT
  • Maintain accurate learner records, attendance monitoring and achievement tracking
  • Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and standardisation activities
  • Support enrichment activities, trips, work placements and promotional events
  • Work collaboratively as part of a committed curriculum team
  • Maintain current industry knowledge and professional practice within Catering and Hospitality

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and learning and able to motivate and engage learners from a range of backgrounds.

Essential Requirements

  • A good standard of education including Maths and English at Grade C/Level 2 or equivalent
  • A Level 3 qualification in Catering
  • Industrial experience within the Catering and Hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to integrate digital learning technologies into lessons
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and learner support
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and support learners to achieve
