Lecturer in A Level Art & Photography (FTC)

Job Introduction

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer in A Level Art & Photography to join our team for the 2026/27 academic year.

As a Lecturer in A Level Art & Photography, you will deliver outstanding and inclusive teaching and learning experiences that motivate learners to achieve their full potential and progress successfully to higher education and creative careers. You will teach across A Level Art and Photography programmes, planning engaging lessons, assessing learner progress effectively, and providing high-quality feedback that supports achievement and personal development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent and inclusive teaching, learning and assessment across A Level Art & Photography programmes.
  • Plan and deliver engaging schemes of work and lessons that support learner progress and achievement.
  • Assess learner work through high-quality formative and summative assessment practices.
  • Monitor learner progress and implement intervention strategies to maximise achievement and value-added outcomes.
  • Support curriculum development and contribute to course quality improvement planning.
  • Undertake Personal Tutor responsibilities and contribute to student welfare and personal development programmes.
  • Participate in course team meetings, standardisation, internal verification, and staff development activities.
  • Contribute to college marketing, recruitment, trips, visits, exhibitions, and learner enrichment activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, registers, and assessment tracking through ProMonitor and other college systems.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and organised professional with:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in Art, Photography, or a related creative discipline.
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience of teaching or working with young people, ideally within Further Education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative education.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice, learner success, and continuous professional development.
