Job Introduction
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Lecturer in Painting & Decorating to join our Construction team. This is an exciting opportunity for an industry professional or experienced FE lecturer to inspire the next generation of painters and decorators through high-quality teaching, practical training and outstanding learner support.
You will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across Painting & Decorating programmes, supporting learners to develop the technical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to progress into their careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Painting & Decorating programmes.
- Plan and prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and individual learning plans to support learner achievement and progression.
- Assess learner work through ongoing formative and summative assessment, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Develop engaging and inspirational learning resources, including the effective use of ILT and VLE platforms.
- Maintain accurate learner records, registers, assessment documentation and exam entries.
- Support curriculum development and contribute to quality improvement activities including SAR and Continuous Improvement Plans.
- Participate in learner interviews, open events, marketing activities and enrichment opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, external assessors, employers and awarding organisations.
About You
- Holds relevant qualifications in Painting & Decorating or a related construction discipline.
- Has current industry knowledge and practical experience within Painting & Decorating.
- Possesses a recognised teaching qualification or is willing to work towards one.
- Has experience of delivering teaching, training or assessment within Further Education, apprenticeships or industry training environments.
- Is passionate about supporting learners to achieve and progress.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
- Has experience of using digital learning technologies and learner tracking systems.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, equality and inclusive practice within education.
