We are seeking a passionate and motivated Lecturer in Public Services to join our dynamic team at Bury College. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Lecturer to deliver excellent and inclusive teaching on our Public Services courses, to inspire learners to succeed.
About the Role
As a Lecturer in Public Services, you will deliver engaging, inclusive, and inspiring teaching that supports learners to succeed and progress. You will play a key role in planning, delivering, and assessing learning, while contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment that motivates and inspires learners
- Plan and deliver schemes of work, lesson plans, and individual learning plans (ILPs)
- Support learner achievement, attendance, and progression
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement, and course team activities
- Ensure effective use of digital learning platforms and resources (including VLE and ILT)
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, and GDPR compliance
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners
About You
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in a Public Services-related subject
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
Experience
- Experience of teaching Public Services (or relevant teaching practice)
- Strong lesson planning and curriculum delivery skills
- Experience using ILT to enhance learning
- Ability to support diverse learners and promote engagement
- Experience of assessment and tracking learner progress
